Medicare Rx Drugs Plans

Medicare Prescription Drug coverage, also called Part D, is a required insurance plan that must be obtained either through a stand-alone Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or a Medicare Advantage Plan. The only exceptions are beneficiaries who have creditable coverage from other sources, such as the VA. Penalties for not enrolling on time can be lifelong and may reach up to 1% of the national average monthly premium. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is solely responsible for determining the penalty amount when you decide to join a Drug Plan.
